zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Mutation Testing for Task-Oriented Chatbots
Conversational agents, or chatbots, are increasingly used to access all sorts of services using natural language. While open-domain chatbots - like ChatGPT - can converse on any topic, task-oriented chatbots - the focus of this paper - are designed for specific tasks, like booking a flight, obtaining customer support, or setting an appointment. Like any other software, task-oriented chatbots need to be properly tested, usually by defining and executing test scenarios (i.e., sequences of user-chatbot interactions). However, there is currently a lack of methods to quantify the completeness and strength of such test scenarios, which can lead to low-quality tests, and hence to buggy chatbots.
To fill this gap, we propose adapting mutation testing (MuT) for task-oriented chatbots. To this end, we introduce a set of mutation operators that emulate faults in chatbot designs, an architecture that enables MuT on chatbots built using heterogeneous technologies, and a practical realisation as an Eclipse plugin. Moreover, we evaluate the applicability, effectiveness and efficiency of our approach on open-source chatbots, with promising results.

High performance Serverless Java on AWS- GoTo Amsterdam 2024
Java is for many years one of the most popular programming languages, but it used to have hard times in the Serverless community. Java is known for its high cold start times and high memory footprint, comparing to other programming languages like Node.js and Python. In this talk I'll look at the general best practices and techniques we can use to decrease memory consumption, cold start times for Java Serverless development on AWS including GraalVM (Native Image) and AWS own offering SnapStart based on Firecracker microVM snapshot and restore and CRaC (Coordinated Restore at Checkpoint) runtime hooks. I'll also provide a lot of benchmarking on Lambda functions trying out various deployment package sizes, Lambda memory settings, Java compilation options and HTTP (a)synchronous clients and measure their impact on cold and warm start times.

- 5. The emergence of social media altered how IT professionals interact not only with customers, but with peers as well. In the past the only way an IT professional could interact with his peers were primarily at association events or other conferences. While these meetings were often informative, they happened far too infrequently. Today with social media, these IT professionals can interact with their peers, clients, and potential customers with ease. This allows for information to be shared much quicker and efficiently then before.

- Good morning, Today we will cover the benefits of perusing social media as a marketing strategy, why you want to invest in social media marketing, and where to begin.
- The percentage of adults that use social media in the United States alone has increased exponentially over the last 5 years. In 2005, only 8% of adults in the US used any type of social media to network with friends, family, and more importantly, businesses. Look ahead to 2011 where 65% of adults used some type of social media. More and more people are turning off their televisions, and turning on their computers to check Facebook, and Twitter. There is a golden opportunity to reach out to millions and millions of customers that were previously unreachable.
- It is estimated that the use in social media will continue to grow of the next 4 years. Between March 2012 and December 2017, there is an estimated 4.5 billion users to all social media. To not use social media as a marketing strategy is a missed opportunity to reach out to millions of consumers and talk about your products and services. If your customer service is top notch, the consumers will do your marketing for you. Each positive experience posted on social media sites will instantly be available to thousands of people.
- Social media has many benefits to your company. First and foremost generated exposure. You are able to reach out to more potential customers using social media then you would using traditional advertisement strategies. In addition to the extra exposure, you will receive more traffic to your web site when customers go to see what you are all about. This will turn them on to other products and services that you offer. Other businesses will find you on social media as well, seeking you out over your competitors that may not have jumped on the social media bandwagon yet.
- In order to star the process it is important to get testimonials from existing customers. These testimonials can be posted to your Facebook or Twitter page. This shines a light on your company and highlights your customer service. As more stories are told, then more likely new customers will want to purchase from you. These new customers will post their own stories on their social media sites, reaching out to their friends and families, driving more customers back to you for their IT needs.
- In closing, social media is not going away, and if you chose not to take advantage of it now, your competitors will. This will put your business behind, and it will take more resources to catch up to your competition. The benefits of extra traffic and exposure far out weigh the resources to allow our firm to manage your social media marketing. Thank you for your time this morning.
