2. INDEX
Define noise pollution
Causes of noise pollution
How to prevent noise pollution
Effects of human hearing
Source of noise pollution
3. DEFINE NOISE POLLUTION
Noise pollution refers to sounds in the
environment that are caused by humans and that
threaten the health or welfare of human or
animal inhabitants.
4.
5. CAUSES OF NOISE POLLUTION
In modern society, transportation systems –
including cars, trains and airplanes – are one of
the most common sources of noise pollution
since they can be particularly loud and
unrelenting in certain areas.
In general, people who live in urban centers
are more likely to be exposed to noise
pollution due to population density and the
increased presence of the transportation
systems described above.
8. 3 WAYS TO PREVENT NOISE
POLLUTION
Construction of soundproof rooms for noisy machines in
industrial and manufacturing installations must be
encouraged. This is also important for residential
building—noisy machines should be installed far from
sleeping and living rooms, like in a basement or garage.
Use of horns with jarring sounds, motorbikes with
damaged exhaust pipes, noisy trucks to be banned.
Noise producing industries, airports, bus and transport
terminals and railway stations to sighted far from where
living places.
9. EFFECTS OF NOISE POLLUTION TO YOUR
HEALTH
Noise health effects are the health consequences of regular exposure, to
consistent elevated sound levels. Elevated workplace or other noise can
cause hearing impairment, hypertension, ischemic heart
disease, annoyance, and sleep disturbance. Changes in the immune
system and birth defects have been attributed to noise exposure
10.
11. SOURCE OF NOISE POLLUTION
Social events:
Places of worship, discos and gigs, parties and
other social events also create a lot of noise for the
people living in that area. In many market areas,
people sell with loud speakers, others shout out
offers and try to get customers to buy their goods. It
is important to note that whey these events are not
often, they can be called 'Nuisance' rather than
noise pollution.
12. 3 WAYS TO AVOID NOISE POLLUTION
There are several steps you can take to try to
limit your exposure to noise pollution,
including:
Using a white noise machine
Inserting ear plugs when going to sleep
Moving to a new city or neighborhood

14. RANGE OF HUMAN
HEARING
The range of human hearing is generally
considered to be 20 Hz to 20 kHz, but it is
far more sensitive to sounds between 1 kHz
and 4 kHz. For example, listeners can detect
sounds as low as 0 dB SPL at 3 kHz, but
require 40 dB SPL at 100 hertz (an amplitude
increase of 100).
