Welcome back to Term 4. I trust you all had a
wonderful holiday break. We extend a warm
welcome to the new students and their families
who started at Ascot School at the beginning of
the term.
Congratulations to all those students who have
represented Southland in their respective sports.
There were a large number of you and we are very
proud of your achievements.
Please take the opportunity to view the new mural
on display in our school hall. It looks fantastic.
This term promises to be a busy one as we head
towards summer and Christmas. The students are
already talking excitedly about the upcoming
Production and Deep Cove Camp.
As always, if we can be of any assistance to either
you or your child, please just ring or drop in at the
Office. We are always happy to meet with you.

PET SHOW
The School Pet Show is to be held on Friday 1
November. Pets are to arrive at School from
12.50pm and are to be in the correct area for
judging, which will begin at 1.15pm. So that
all students can be involved in the day, those
that don’t have pets, may bring a soft toy
animal or have their face painted as an
animal.
If the weather is unsuitable, the cancellation
will be broadcast over both Radio Stations
after 11.00am. If you are bringing a pet,
please return your notice to the Office next
week.

All accounts need to be paid immediately as these are
now overdue. Automatic Payment Forms are available
from the School Office if you still wish to use these for
your payments.
If making a Bill Payment over the
internet, please remember to enter the child’s name in
the reference area as it makes it easier to identify when
reconciling the payments.
Thank you to the many people who have already paid.
Our financial year finishes at the end of December so we
need all payments by the end of November if possible.
Overdue accounts will be sent on to Southern Debt
Collectors for collection as the school cannot absorb
these debts.

CANTEEN NOTE
This term there will be a Saveloy sizzle on Wednesdays
and Sausage Sizzles on Fridays - both cost $2 each. Just
put you child’s name and room number on an envelope and
put it into their lunch basket.

BOOK WEEK WEARABLE ARTS
Friday 15 November
This year’s Book Fair and the Term 4 Inquiry will
combine with the focus being ‘Wearable Art’.
The children will be making a wearable art item
in class. Please let us know if you would be
available to assist in the making of these
creations or if you are able to donate materials,
fabric etc that may be useful.
Children will parade their wearable art in our
School Hall during the school day. The time for
this will be confirmed at a later date.
Book Fair Books – The selling of books will be in
the Library from Monday 11 November – Friday
15 November.

SPORTS UNIFORMS
As we have come to the end of the Winter Season,
all Netball and Hockey uniforms need
to be returned to the Office as
soon as possible please. Please place
in a plastic bag with the child’s
name on it.

Any cellphones brought to
school MUST be handed into the
Office on arrival at school and
collected at the end of the
school day. The School takes no
responsibility for valuables such
as MP3 Players, I- Pods,
Cellphones,
Jewellery
etc.
