Leipzig, January 2015. During the
business forum were held more
than 25 official business meetings
and achieved significant business,
scientific and development co-
operation with various partners
from Germany and other European
countries.
THE ENERGY SUMMIT 2015
LAZIC Consulting and one of the
industrial partner took part in the
energy summit, Neum 2015. The
Summit was organized as part of
USAID Energy Investment Activity
Project. The conclusion of the
summit is that the reforms in the
energy and electricity markets are
the most important challenges in
BiH and Balkan region. There are
numerous obstacles, especially in
the process of obtaining licenses
and approvals necessary for
investment.Throughpresentations,
panel discussions and workshops,
participants discussed about
currentissuesrelatedtothe reform
of the energy sector, liberalization
of the electricity market,
investments in renewable energy
and the removal of barriers to
investment. Within the technical
sessions focus is on reducing
emissions, the production of
electricity from biomass, the new
roles of the operators of
distribution systems, and the
integration of renewable energy
intothe market.

2. DELEGATION FROM
GERMANY AND BiH VISITED
RENEXPO 2015 BELGRADE
As part of the TREC Danube
project, delegations from
Germany and BiH visited the
International Trade FairRENEXPO-
renewable energy and energy
efficiency Belgrade, 21-23 April
2015. The aim of the visit is to
enhance cooperation of the
project partners, and encourage
participation of SMEs - small and
medium-sized enterprises and
academicandresearchcommunity
in an international network of
partners of transnational clusters
of renewable energyTREC,as well
as the development of strategic
partnerships with NEU - Netzwerk
Energie Umwelt Leipzig. Leading
andkeypartnersinthisprojectare
Deutsches Biomasseforschungs
Zentrum Leipzig - DBFZ, a leading
German research center for
bioenergyandFraunhoferMoetz -
Institute for Social and Economic
Research. The main topics of
discussion were related to the
strategicpartnershipwithpartners
from BiH and Serbia in the field of
renewable energy, environmental
protection and sustainable
development.

Republicof Croatia.Duringbusiness
meetings LAZIC Consulting
presented NEU Netzwerk Energie
Umwelt e.V. and TREC project
activities in our region and created
the conditionsfornewpartnerships
in the TREC project and other
regional initiatives that we are
developingwithGermanpartners.

3. TREC HALF-TIME WORKSHOP ON 19th
OF MAY IN LEIPZIG
Fourteennetworkfromeightcountriesforman
international network of "TREC-network.eu".
PartnersfromCentral andSouthEasternEurope
in Leipzig signed an agreement on cooperation
in the coming period, marking a milestone on
the road to institutionalizedmeta-network.The
objectives of strategic cooperation are the
preparation and implementation of European
projects under the framework program
"Horizon 2020", as well as the initiation of
business relationships and open new markets.
In addition to the partners from Serbia, Bosnia
and Herzegovina,Hungary, Czech Republic and
Slovakia, the network also includes Ukraine,
Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria, and will also
join the Croatia. Specific projects have already
beenagreed.Duringthe followingactivities we
shall jointly developprojectsinthe fieldof solar
energy, biomass and wind energy. The project
TREC-Danube was started in June last year and
has already submitted applications for public
funds in the field of energy storage and
flexibilisationof biogasplants.The projectshall
be extended. New topics for the next project
year are the creation of value in the bio-based
economy, transfer of knowledge and
technology, new mobility concepts and
solutions for urgent waste and wastewater
issues.
