For me, “The Golden Rule” is king. Through this deep and intrinsic understanding of social interaction and interconnectedness, I avoid slipping into “autopilot”. The impersonal nature and distance employed in “going through the motions” at work is far too common, and forgets the very heart of business:real humanconnection. I have learned everything I know about connecting with people through customer service. In fact, I consider these soft skills, natural diplomacy and warm, genuine demeanor to be my greatest assets. It’s what makes me just as suited for the stage as for the cash register. My goal is to achieve this primarily through artistic expression and entertainment, but it is applicable to any job. My duties included keeping the dining area clean, setting up and breaking down the cafeteria before/after guests, and serving breakfast on Sundays, APRIL 2013 - AUGUST 2013 Office Depot- Cashier ● This was my first job, and unfortunately, although Office Depot was a great company, I ended up getting a position at school and couldn’t continue working here for long. I worked the register, helped customers find things, stocked the store, and cleaned up at night.
