Toronto is a multicultural city where over 50% of the population was born outside of Canada, with over 55,000 new immigrants arriving each year. The Toronto Public Library and Settlement.org are great resources for newcomers to get oriented. The library provides free wireless internet access, computers with Microsoft Office, ESL programs, and information about jobs and training in 68 languages. Settlement.org offers information for newcomers in their first days and weeks in 11 languages through their website, YouTube, RSS feeds, and opportunities to share experiences. Both organizations aim to help newcomers navigate life in Toronto.
