Laurie Lewis is a new music professor and choir director at Lincoln College who transferred from MacMurray College. The transition was difficult for both Lewis and her students, as students have had to frequently adapt to changes in faculty, especially in the choir department. While it has been a learning experience, some students are thankful they stayed with the choir and got to work with Lewis. Lincoln College looks closely at choosing new professors to find someone who understands the school and can work with students of all backgrounds and abilities.

in all of my classes I would have freshman
through seniors…But here, it’s primarily a
two-year school and so there’s a culture
shift, which is difficult to get used to.”
“You get adjusted to someone knowing
your vocal range and knowing what you
can and can’t sing and then you have to
basically start all over again.”
“Honestly, I feel like I’m kind of
used to it.”
