On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States, hijacking commercial airplanes and crashing them into the World Trade Center towers in New York City and the Pentagon near Washington, D.C., resulting in massive loss of life. The anniversary of this tragic event is a day to remember and honor those who were killed and to remain vigilant against future acts of terrorism.
