Martin Wattenberg is a computer scientist and artist who leads Google's "The big picture" data visualization group. He creates interactive art installations that visualize data in novel ways. Some of his works include Wind Map, which visualizes wind patterns over a winter season using weather data, and FleshMap, a large study co-created with Veranda Viegas exploring how different music genres reference the human body. His art uses data to fuel visual explorations of meaning and has been displayed in prominent art museums.
