June 2015. Unfortunately, the noodles were recalled and
temporarily banned across the country according to
issues of excessive levels of lead and MSG. The
controversy caused about 400 million packs of Maggi
noodles to be recalled and were reportedly destroyed.

This was a very big controversy in India and it caused a lot of
buzz. The company handles it very well and was able to
contain the incident and control the fallout. I did not hear about
this controversy in Canada and Nestle was able to recover
because the brand is under a different name, so it did not affect
any of the company's other brands.
5. M o v i n g F o r w a r d
Nestle responded immediately and strategically in order to move past the
scandal. They launched an aggressive campaign in order to maintain
brand loyalty. They used radio, and TV commercials to comfort and
assure customers that their products were safe to eat and that the
company cared about them and they were working tirelessly to fix the
issue.

their target demographic. They understand what their customers need in other
countries and are ready to create a product that fits the exact need or desire that is
to be met. They are also very strategic about their individual product naming and
marketing. They company has managed to keep their brands separate from one
another so that their growth is not affected by any other products, which is why they
