The Prophet Muhammad collected the bodies of two martyrs from the Battle of Uhud who had died and wrapped them together in one cloth. He would ask which knew more of the Quran and bury that one first, saying he would bear witness for them on Judgment Day. The Prophet ordered them to be buried with their blood and without washing or funeral prayer in recognition of their martyrdom.
