AdBlock users block ads on websites to improve their browsing experience, but this hurts publishers' revenue. The author proposes a compromise where AdBlock users would pay publishers directly for an ad-free experience, in exchange for whitelisting those publishers. This could provide a new revenue stream for publishers and allow users to freely choose the sites they want to support ad-free. Publishers would get paid directly instead of relying on advertisers, and users would get clean pages without ads they don't want to see.
