The Ndebele community in South Africa holds initiation ceremonies every four years to circumcise young boys and initiate them into adulthood, with the boys spending two months in seclusion learning to be men. However, the next ceremony in 2010 may be postponed due to the World Cup being hosted in South Africa that year, as the elders feel the boys should have time to watch the games instead.
