This document introduces several interns working with the NC Council for Women and Youth Involvement. It provides biographies of six interns, describing their educational backgrounds, areas of study, campus involvement, and internship responsibilities related to issues impacting women and youth. The document also gives an overview of the NC Council's belief that internships provide important experience for college students and increase their chances of post-graduation employment.

1. Rachael
Peoples
Rachael is currently a Senior at William Peace
University studying Psychology with a minor in Women
Studies with hopes of a future in Social Work. She has
participated on the William Peace’s tennis team for the
past 3 years and shall continue on into her senior
year. Rachael will be working on several projects with
us, including researching topics and information for the
College Speaker Series!
Alex Van
Meir
Alex Van Meir is currently a Senior at
William Peace University studying
Psychology with a minor in English with
hopes of working in geriatrics. She has been
highly involved at Peace by working as an
Admissions Ambassador and a Presidential
Ambassador. Alex will be working on
several projects with us, including
researching topics and information to help
better understand the differences between
human trafficking and prostitution

Interns and Volunteers
NC Council for Women and Youth Involvement believes that an internship is a
very important tool that helps college students to gain an important experience.
This helps them in the future to find a job. Today, the job market is too
competitive, and a college degree is not enough. NC Council for Women and
Youth Involvement helps interns build their knowledge and confidence and
combined with their college degree this will increase their chances of finding a
job.
The interns at NC Council for Women and Youth Involvement learn the
importance of the public service and issues that affect women and youth lives in
North Carolina. The interns will be involved in projects dealing with human
trafficking, domestic violence, or sexual assault.

2. better understand the differences between
human trafficking and prostitution
Allison Hall
Allison is currently a Junior at the University of North
Carolina­Chapel Hill double majoring in Business and
Political Science with a minor in Women’s Studies.
After graduating, she hopes to work on Wall Street at
an Investment Bank. On campus, she is involved in
Relay for Life, assistant treasurer of her sorority, and
an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional
business fraternity. In the office, Allison is currently
researching and building a presentation on Women in
Business. In her free time, she enjoys eating all foods.”
Chelsi
McDougal
Chelsi is a senior at William Peace
University graduating in May 2017. her major
is Psychology, and she is also a member of
Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service
Sorority. Advocating for women and helping
individuals in time of need are important
values that she admires. Chelsi is hoping to
gain knowledge on the framework for
upholding organizations and the importance
of services that help support women and
families in our community.
Joshua Mack
Joshua received his primary education at
the Carter G. Woodson school in Winston-
Salem North Carolina. It was while
attending the Carter G. Woodson school
that his love for constitutional development,
legislative analysis, and advocacy for the
disinherited took form.Joshua can best be
described as a renaissance man, a musical
collaborator, singer, lay counselor,
business CEO, and public orator with a gift
for spoken word. He received his B.A. In
liberal studies with concentrations in
business administration and psychology
from Livingstone college in Salisbury North
Carolina and is currently studying Public
Administration at NCCU.
Brittany Tyrone
Brittany is currently a senior at Peace University. She
will graduate in May 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in
Criminal Justice and a minor in Business
Administration. She serves as a member of an
organization called “Presidential Ambassadors”.
Brittany was honored to be inducted into this
organization because it shows that she is a leader for
her community and peers. Her next step after
completing college is to further her education by
attending North Carolina Central University Law School
to become a family lawyer. As an intern for NC Council
for Women and Youth Involvement, Brittany will help on
building programs that are designed to educate the
