NeoPac Thermal Management
A proven thermal management technology for new age green lighting industry
To ensure the reliability and durability of ultra-high-power LED lamps, keeping the junction temperature (Tj) low is always the key
to achieve this goal. By maintaining the temperature of P-N junction low, the illumination degradation and the decaying of the
LED emitters can therefore be extended. To dissipate the heat, a copper heat pipe is attached to the bottom surface of the silicon
submount on which the LED chips are laid on the other end. Availing NeoPac patented technologies, the heat generated from the

houses the die, optics, encapsulant, and heat pipe (used to draw heat away from the die junction). Emitter is mechanically attached
to NeoPac Light Engine consisting of external heat sink which is a dedicated device integrated into the design of the luminaire.
The size of the heat sink depends upon the amount of heat to be dissipated and the material’s thermal properties. In order to
dissipate heat from high power LEDs junction to the underneath components and then to the ambient, need to make use of high
like copper, gold, silver (Electrically more active but thermally not so
active) and diamond.
As copper is economical and highly thermal conductive, so NeoPac
Light Engines are integrated with copper heat pipe to draw the heat
generated in the junction and dissipate to the ambient.
