NAVCP is an advocacy organization that represents eye-care providers
across the country. Its mission is to improve access to comprehensive vision
care through legislative and policy reforms. The organization also collects
and releases data regarding vision health in the United States.
In its most recently updated fact sheet published in 2018, the NAVCP
reported that more than 80 percent of American adults have vision
problems that require medical intervention. Increasing lifespans and the
growing use of backlit devices are fueling vision impairment and raising the
demand for preventive and corrective vision care.
