2. Introduction
Narsingdi District is located in central
Bangladesh, about 50 kilometers north-east of
Dhaka. It is part of the Dhaka Division and is
surrounded by several rivers, such as the
Meghna, Arial Khan and Haridhoa, which help
support its agriculture and local industries.

• Narsingdi is famous for its textile and Baburhat is the
biggest market for textile cloths in Bangladesh
• There are several number of Jute Mills in Narsingdi.
• Two Urea fertilizer in Palash & Ghorashal

5. Agriculture
Famous for two types of Banana.
• Sagor
• Sabri
Soil and Climate suitable for growing banana and
it plays an important role alongside industry in the
district’s economy.
