Key findings include that stands currently lack shade, people prefer parking in shade, and stands are not always conveniently located or easy to use. Two conceptual designs were created - a collapsible shelter concept and a sliding rail concept. The concepts were evaluated against requirements of usability, security, and environmental factors. The overall approach aims to address systemic issues undermining rural ecosystems and development.
The document describes research into designing a mobile phone scanner to simplify KYC registration processes. It identifies challenges with the current process such as unclear photos due to lighting or document quality. User research found that registration took 1-3 minutes but accuracy was low. The design brief calls for a scanner that minimizes hand movements, provides even lighting, and easily fits different IDs. Low-fidelity prototypes were tested and refinements identified, like adjustable height and a detachable signature capture area. An open, portable, foldable design was preferred. Further iterations incorporated this feedback and high-fidelity prototypes were created and tested.
