Dr. Shriniwas Janardan Kashalikar conducted a new study of the Bhagavad Gita. In the study, he argues that Arjuna was mistaken in renouncing the war and wanting to die without resistance, as Arjuna had not properly identified his true self or the true enemy. Kashalikar also discusses how the concepts of karma phala tyaga and tyaga phala can be reconciled in the Gita.
