2. Game One: Self As Pet
• Balancing act: Survive by maximizing
happiness levels and properly caring for self.
Not dissimilar from the Sims, Tamagotchi,
other pet simulators.
3. • Work required for money, money required for
entertainment. Balancing these key to game –
overwork can make one unhappy, poor choice
of entertainment the same.
4. • Reviews available on websites in the game, as
well as books and other sources. Determining
which categories pleases the self can help
optimize the choices best suited to happiness.
5. Toothbrush
• Attempt to thoroughly brush and clean teeth,
with the progress of decay that occurs in
months occuring in minutes.
6. • Rapid development. If players do not move
the brush quickly around the mouth and spot
plaque where it builds up, entire teeth may be
lost. A toothless mouth is the failure
condition.
7. • Only three times a playthrough may players
call on a dentist, this will temporarily improve
teeth health but is best used in a case of
emergency.
8. • Players begin with an electric toothbrush. If
they complete the game successful with said
toothbrush, they may opt for the challenge of
playing with a regular toothbrush on a replay.
9. Sandbox
• A large area of Dublin presented as explorable.
Can either be played as open ended with no
victory conditions – like Grand Theft Auto
without the theft – or as a travel game.
10. • As a travel game, players are randomly
assigned locations to move to and must reach
them before the time is up. They may use
public transport, competitive multiplayer
could be involved.
11. Clutter
• The player is presented with a thoroughly
messy room. They must correctly determine
what is and is not trash and dispose of it
within a time limit.
12. • Some materials may need to be ‘finished’
before garbage – uneaten food or unfinished
drinks – unless their properties include a note
about being ‘gone off.’
