Slavs And Vikings Festival Wolin
The Slavs and Vikings Festival will be held in Wolin, Poland from August 1-3. The festival attracts over 1,000 participants each year from countries across Europe and further abroad to see recreations of Slavic races, Viking ships, battles, and crafts. Events include a sea battle, slave market, horse fighting, and a competition for the best beard. The three-day festival ends with a performance of ancient music and is accompanied by an international scientific conference on Baltic Sea peoples history with 1,500 attendees.

Alytus is the largest city in southern Lithuania, located between forests and fields. It is divided into two parts by the Nemunas River, with the larger part on the left shore. Behind the fountain is Szczytnicki Park which covers 1 square kilometer. The group also visited the planetarium to learn about stars and then enjoyed spending time with friends in the surrounding area of Centennial Hall.

Šiaulių miesto gimimo dienai skirta šventė „Šiauliai – mano miestas“
Rugsėjo 21 dienos popietę Vaikų literatūros skyriuje (Gvazdikų takas 8) įvyko Šiaulių miesto gimimo dienai skirta šventė „Šiauliai – mano miestas“. Šventėje dalyvavo Gegužių progimnazijos 2A klasės mokiniai su savo auklėtoja Aušra Adomaitiene.
Šventei bibliotekininkės buvo paruošusios ne tik parodą „Šiaulių krašto įžymybės“, bet ir skaidres apie Šiaulių miesto ir krašto lankytinas vietas, rekordus, mini viktoriną. Renginį pradėjusi bibliotekos vedėja Rima Matulevičiūtė trumpai papasakojo apie 1236 m. rugsėjo mėn. 22 d. įvykusį Saulės mūšį ir, kad rytoj bus tikrasis Šiaulių miesto gimtadienis. Be to priminė iš kur tas pavadinimas Šiauliai – Saulės miestas. Šventę tęsė į bibliotekos skaityklos sceną pakviesta rašytoja, literatė, poezijos ir kitų menų mėgėjų asociacijos „Menų Šaltinis“ vadovė Rita Kastėnaitė-Skeirienė, kuri antrokėliams paskaitė savo sukurtą eiliuotą padavimą apie Salduvę.
Sužinoję rimtąją dalį, mokyklinukai buvo supažindinti ir su šiek tiek linksmesniais dalykais. Vyresn. bibliotekininkė Inga Bubulytė rodydama ir pasakodama apie Kryžių kalną, bulvarą – Šiaulių miesto širdį, Šiaulių muziejus, Sukilėlių kalnelį ir kitas garsias vietas uždavė nemažai klausimų. Atsakymų buvo įvairiausių, todėl smagios šventės akimirkos tikrai neprailgo.
Renginio pabaigoje savo eilėraštį, jau tapusį daina, apie Šiaulius paskaitė poetė Rita Kastėnaitė-Skeirienė.
Koks gimtadienis be vaišių? Nors šventėje torto nebuvo, bet mažieji antrokėliai pasivaišino gimtadienio saldainiais ir saulės subrandintais „raudonskruosčiais“ obuoliukais.

Šiaulių miesto gimimo dienai skirta šventė „Šiauliai – mano miestas“
Rugsėjo 21 dienos popietę Vaikų literatūros skyriuje (Gvazdikų takas 8) įvyko Šiaulių miesto gimimo dienai skirta šventė „Šiauliai – mano miestas“. Šventėje dalyvavo Gegužių progimnazijos 2A klasės mokiniai su savo auklėtoja Aušra Adomaitiene.
Šventei bibliotekininkės buvo paruošusios ne tik parodą „Šiaulių krašto įžymybės“, bet ir skaidres apie Šiaulių miesto ir krašto lankytinas vietas, rekordus, mini viktoriną. Renginį pradėjusi bibliotekos vedėja Rima Matulevičiūtė trumpai papasakojo apie 1236 m. rugsėjo mėn. 22 d. įvykusį Saulės mūšį ir, kad rytoj bus tikrasis Šiaulių miesto gimtadienis. Be to priminė iš kur tas pavadinimas Šiauliai – Saulės miestas. Šventę tęsė į bibliotekos skaityklos sceną pakviesta rašytoja, literatė, poezijos ir kitų menų mėgėjų asociacijos „Menų Šaltinis“ vadovė Rita Kastėnaitė-Skeirienė, kuri antrokėliams paskaitė savo sukurtą eiliuotą padavimą apie Salduvę.
Sužinoję rimtąją dalį, mokyklinukai buvo supažindinti ir su šiek tiek linksmesniais dalykais. Vyresn. bibliotekininkė Inga Bubulytė rodydama ir pasakodama apie Kryžių kalną, bulvarą – Šiaulių miesto širdį, Šiaulių muziejus, Sukilėlių kalnelį ir kitas garsias vietas uždavė nemažai klausimų. Atsakymų buvo įvairiausių, todėl smagios šventės akimirkos tikrai neprailgo.
Renginio pabaigoje savo eilėraštį, jau tapusį daina, apie Šiaulius paskaitė poetė Rita Kastėnaitė-Skeirienė.
Koks gimtadienis be vaišių? Nors šventėje torto nebuvo, bet mažieji antrokėliai pasivaišino gimtadienio saldainiais ir saulės subrandintais „raudonskruosčiais“ obuoliukais.
