Prateek Nevatia completed an internship at IDOS CORP where he was given various tasks and assignments over the course of two weeks. During his first few days, he attended an orientation and icebreaker to learn about his coworkers. He was then introduced to the IDOS platform and accounting product. Later in the internship, Prateek explored Mysore on the weekend and took on new tasks, teams, and deadlines upon returning. While some tasks grew arduous, Prateek found the overall experience enlightening and looks forward to continuing to prove himself as an asset to the company.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software Fuzzing
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. Building Production Ready Search Pipelines with Spark and Milvus
Spark is the widely used ETL tool for processing, indexing and ingesting data to serving stack for search. Milvus is the production-ready open-source vector database. In this talk we will show how to use Spark to process unstructured data to extract vector representations, and push the vectors to Milvus vector database for search serving.

CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on Blockchain
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.

My 10 day internship at idos.
- 1. My Internship Experience at IDOS CORP Prateek Nevatia
- 2. INCEPTION The journey began with an enlightening orientation which was followed by a quick ice breaker round. This pretty much helped me to have a glimpse about everyone; their background; their profile, to name a few. We then got introduced to the platform of IDOS. About what IDOS is and how it got coined, a revolutionary accounting product that was never intended to happen.
- 3. Day 2 Here goes nothing ! Our individual and team tasks where we started working, researching for our task. This pretty much opened up the dimunitive inhibitions about how to access information and pull up what is relevant. Thereafter we got to deliver a few ones too.
- 4. Day 3 Woke up to a deep seated imploring urge within to prove my competency and excellence for the fresh tasks that were to be dellivered. TOPICs like MSME, TRADE ASSOCIATION.
- 5. DAY 4,5,6 : THE WEEKENDS The most awaited day of the week : FRIDAY. Given a holiday. So I took this as an opportunity to get away for the weekend. Since I am new to Bengauluru, so I thought about exploring the messmerizing beauty of the town. Went to MYSORE and paid a visit to the monumental colossal beautiful Mysore Palace.
- 6. Day 7 Monday Blues. New Task, New Teams , New expectations Timelines Deadlines Presentations Delivery
- 7. Day 8,9,10 Tasks started to get a bit arduous. Subtle misunderstandings, tensions and last minute anxieties to complete the tasks and assignment. For one thing, I can vouch for, if nothing then has been a deep enlightening experience. Sheer marketing assignments have been given. Core work yet the ambience is rare holistic blend of fun and play.
- 8. The End of the Beginning The journey has only started and no matter how things look like right now, it just keeps getting better and better. The plethora of challenges that IDOS as a platform has provided has been scintillating and eye opening. Perhaps I might prove to be an asset for this company afterall. I can vouch for it. Try me.
