1. Music Video Proposal and Treatment.

Production Company:

Genre:
POP
2. General Concept
The feel of the music video will be fun, colourful and vibrant. It is a relatively
fast song so the video is going to be fast moving. It will be a mixture of Abstract
video but will still relate to the lyrics at times.
It will have lots of close ups, and moving images. I want to have a camera
above a hand and a paper, I want the hand to draw people or objects and then
they come to life and become part of the video. I want it to be quite quirky, fun
and happy. There is a countdown from 10 so I will have illustrations, or scenes
that have the numbers on and so on. It won’t all be the illustrations I will also
have real life images and scenery.
The way I want to make the video is:
1. I want there to be a video stand over a table. The table will have a few
papers on with a pot of pencils.
2. You will only see a hand drawing the person and that will be fastforwarded.
3. Then the images with come to life and move by pausing the video whilst
the hand draws it in a different position and then you play and do it
again. I will also do the same with dolls.
4. I want the actions to relate to the song. And some images and other
shots can be abstract.
5. There will be a few close ups of people’s faces or lips saying the words so
I want the make up to be modern and colourful. I might constantly
change the colours of the lips with some camera effects whilst there
saying the words.
6. Most of the shots will be indoors. And the faces will be behind a white
background.
3. Influences:
The music video I was inspired by was Bruno Mars-Just the way you are. In this
video he draws the girls face and it comes to life almost. I want mine to be a bit
more than this but it inspired my vision of it.

Also Beyoncé’s ‘countdown’ video inspired me also as I’m using the song the
video obviously makes the song even better. The colours brightness and fast
moving scenes give me ideas for my video. It also uses split screen effect and
makes the video look really good.

Concerns:
My concerns are special effects and making the drawings come to life. My
vision of the video is quite strong so I will have to become less controlling and
precise about the aspects of the video. And also welcome other ideas about
the video. I will have to ensure we have a stable stand for the camera whilst
the hand it drawing. Also the concern it making every scene run smoothly and
every action of the drawing be smooth and blend well.
