Editor's Notes
Distance studentsAthletes who are required to attend study halls elsewhere on campusStudents who are already burdened with multiple technologies and websites for class managementSamford students are above average on campus and civic engagement, leading to conflict with some library reference hours.
At first, I created a basic widget code set and created a LibGuide showing faculty how to add this to their Moodle course pages. Through experience, we found this wasn’t very successful. However, instructors can add me as Course Designer, allowing me to make aesthetic changes but not have access to students’ academic information. Thus, I can do any customizing and embedding they request. Once Stephanie routes the request for Moodle embedding to me, I contact the professor for details to decide what customizations are appropriate.
Once we saw the potential, we brainstormed:On our link resolver landing pageIn the EBSCO Discovery Search results pageOther Springshare content that could be similarly customized and embedded in MoodleWe’re still working on this one, because Springshare keeps rolling out more options!
