South Africa has 11 official languages: English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, Sepedi, Sotho, Tswana, Swati, Venda, and Tsonga. A mother tongue is the language you learn from a young age at home. Speaking the same mother tongue is often connected to sharing the same culture through things like food, music, and celebrations. While people may learn and speak other languages, one's mother tongue is an important part of their identity. God created and loves all people equally regardless of differences in language or culture.
