My duties include: Providing instruction and case management for all students; implementing "best practice" strategies in the
classroom while recognizing individual learning styles and needs and thus providing accommodations and modifications to
materials and instruction to meet students' needs; instructing/directing assigned instructional assistants to maximize delivery of
instructional services; collecting appropriate student performance data for determining the extent to which student IEP goals
and objectives are achieved; I often seek out opportunities for professional development to enhance content knowledge and
pedagogical skill. My most important responsibilities are to each student’s IEP, individual instruction, helping to build
interpersonal/functional relationships and creating a safe learning environment in which students, parents and the community
are able to grow/thrive in education. 	
  
Campbell Union High School District (Grade 9-12, SAI-TM classroom) 08/2013-06/2015
My tasks included: working as a case manager for students with emotional disturbances; providing intervention strategies to
students in crisis within a therapeutic classroom; conducting assessment/evaluation of student abilities and needs; development
of IEP instructional goals/objectives; identifying other related services for the student; reassess/evaluate student progress and
submits reports in a timely manner to coincide with IEP review meetings. Establish an instructional/learning environment for
students to reinforce appropriate pupil behavior; develop, adapt/modify and sequence a variety of instructional activities to meet
the students’ individual goals/objectives which are based on the student’s IEP; monitor behavioral and instructional progress for
the students; establish/maintain behavioral management system for students; provide direct instruction to students in the areas
of vocation and career development; communication skills; social and recreation/leisure skills; and transition to adult living.
Beacon School-NPS (7-8th
grade, Emotional Disturbance) 10/2012-08/2013
My position included teaching students diagnosed with severe emotional disturbances and other related disabilities. My duties
included creating/implementing individual instruction, maintaining IEPs, implementation of severe behavior management
strategies, and support student learning in inclusive environments.
McKinley Elementary School (Pre-K, Autism) 01/2012-10/2012
The position included working both 1:1 and in a group setting with students with moderate-severe autism. My duties included
fostering play with all of the students while promoting social/life skills, teaching through the "Competent Learner Model"
(CLM) and "Picture Exchange Communication System" (PECS) as well as diaper changing and behavior interventions.
Aurora Vista Del Mar-Mental Health Worker 7/28/2010-June 2011
My responsibilities included direct patient care which entailed handling patient admissions and discharges, safety checks, vital
signs, charting and constant vigilant supervision of all patients at all times. I was trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI),
which gave me the tools to deescalate agitated/upset patients using both verbal interventions as well as appropriate, and safe
restraint techniques needed as a last resort situation.
