This document summarizes four notable suburbs located near Moscow. Arkhangelskoye is a small village west of Moscow known for its beautiful palace and garden formerly owned by the Usupov family. Sergiyev Posad is home to the St. Trinity Lavra monastery and a museum of Russian art from the 15th to 20th centuries. Chernogolovka is an eastern suburb that is home to both a town and scientific center. Dubna, located about three hours from Moscow by train, was founded in 1956 as the site of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.
