It is with great pleasure that I recommend Amanda Morris for employment with your
company. Amanda was hired as a casual employee at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA)
and served as the video editor for my five-month mission aboard the International Space
Station, Expedition 34135.
Amanda became an integral member of an outreach campaign spearheaded by the CSA
that captured headlines around the world. Armed with expertise and boundless creativity,
Amanda edited numerous videos that illustrated my daily life and activities. She
distinguished herself by consistently producing high-quality videos that were educational,
fun, and wildly successful.
The videos have been covered by media around the world, featured everywhere from
news networks to the Colbert Report and even tweeted by actress Mia Farrow. They
engaged the public worldwide and significantly increased visibility for the CSA-all while
being produced at a rapid rate. From pre-launch to post-landing the CSA released over
150 mission-related videos in both official languages. To date they have garnered over
32 million views.
With Amanda's help, the Canadian Space Agency and I were awarded the 2013 Spirit of
Yuri's Night Award. This award is presented in honour of Russian cosmonaut Yuri
Gagarin, the first human to journey into outer space. It recognizes "a person or persons
that embody the Yuri's Night mission of using space and art to contribute to the future of
humanity, both in space and on Earth."
Amanda's drive, enthusiasm, and passion for her work are unsurpassed. She would be an
