Salou is a city located along the coast of Catalonia in northeastern Spain, 100 km from Barcelona and 10 km from Tarragona. It is known for its white sand beaches and caves. There are many cultural and leisure activities available in Salou, including museums, a library, music school, and theaters. Popular nightlife includes discotheques and pubs concentrated along Carles Buigas street. Salou hosts two annual festivals, a summer beach party in August known for fireworks displays, and a winter Carnival celebration in February called El Coso Blanco.
