Mother's Day is a celebration for mothers that began as a day to remember Anna Jarvis's mother, who died. Anna Jarvis campaigned for a national day of remembrance and in 1910, the mayor of West Virginia designated the second Sunday of May for this purpose. The following year, every U.S. state observed Mother's Day as well to honor mothers and show appreciation for all they do in caring for their children.
Mother's Day began as a tradition in England to recognize mothers, which later became known as Mothering Sunday when servants could visit their mothers. It became an official U.S. holiday in 1914 when Anna Jarvis campaigned for a day to honor her mother after she passed, and in 1910 West Virginia's governor designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. Today, Mother's Day is still celebrated on the second Sunday in May as a day to show love and appreciation for mothers through gifts and spending time together.
This year, I spent my holydays here, in Valladolid. At Christmas Eve, I went to my grandparents’ house on my father’s side where we had dinner and talked about Christmas plans. On Christmas Day, presents were waiting at my grandparents’ house. On New Years Eve, we ate grapes at midnight at my grandfather's house on my mother's side, then my sister went to a party. On Three Kings Day, we spent the day at my uncles' house with cousins, including a new baby cousin. We opened presents the next day, and my family came to my house for a meal. It was a good Christmas.

The document discusses the challenges of mobile cloud computing and proposes a potential solution called the Mobile Agent Based Open Cloud Computing Federation (MABOCCF) architecture. Some key challenges include the absence of standards, limited scalability, and unreliable availability of services. The MABOCCF architecture aims to address portability and interoperability issues between different cloud platforms by using mobile agents to encapsulate and transfer data between clouds. It works by partitioning applications, monitoring network conditions, and using mobile agents to send encapsulated data structures to clouds in the federation.

This study investigated the relationship between age and pulse pressure (PP) in subjects with untreated essential hypertension based on their plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI)-1 gene polymorphism. The results showed that subjects with the deletion/deletion genotype had a significantly steeper age-related increase in PP compared to those with the insertion/insertion or insertion/deletion genotypes, after adjusting for potential confounding factors. This suggests that the PAI-1 gene polymorphism modulates the effects of aging on PP increases in hypertensive individuals.

Russia’s Wealth Possessors Study 2015 aims to reveal the attitude of Russia’s businessmen and investors to succession, asset management, charity and philanthropy. The main focus points and hypotheses were identified through preliminary review of both foreign and local academic literature as well as practical studies of private and family wealth.
The Study focuses on the following themes:
1. Business and wealth succession: identify the position of respondents toward these questions, understanding of their nature and degree of succession mechanism elaboration. Issues of preservation and evolution of family wealth in Russia are important because currently the mechanisms allowing this are not fully matured.
2. Asset management: determine the level of understanding of available opportunities, measure satisfaction with services currently on offer, identify the main difficulties.
3. Philanthropy: determine the degree of involvement in charitable and philanthropic activities, main focus areas, major motives and significant barriers to this activity.
4. Family and values: identifying personal and family values of Russia’s wealth possessors, their guiding principles and long term goals is placed as the cornerstone of the study.
The data obtained through the course of the interviews with Russia’s wealth possessors will allow us to better understand their perception the current situation. The Study’s conclusions will help identify further areas of research and necessary infrastructural elements such as regulatory norms, products and services, as well as educational programmes. One of our objectives was to develop and enrich the national academic expertise in the given field. We hope that the given Study will promote the development of new research methodologies and further the interest for research in the field which currently requires more attention.

European linguistics in the 20th centuryRicardo Nuñez
The Prague School was an influential linguistic circle established in 1926 in Prague. It studied language as a system of functionally related units and emphasized the functions that linguistic elements fulfill. The Prague School's major contributions included its conception of linguistic function, the concept of phonological opposition, the theory of markedness, and the distinction between theme and rheme. The general approach of the Prague School can be described as a combination of structuralism and functionalism.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
