2. The Mongols were the
first to ever use fighting
from horseback as a
tactic. This provided
much advantage when
fighting ground troops
due to the elevation and
higher speed.
3. The Mongols were not
the first to invent
gunpowder, but were
the first to use it in the
art of war. This greatly
improved fighting and
cause the time of battle
to decrease due to the
use of deadlier weapons.
4. The Mongol leaders
preached discipline to
their warriors, which
composed them for
battle. The discipline also
gave the Mongol army
an advantage.
5. This was perhaps the
most notable tactic used
by the Mongol army. The
army would retreat to
where the had advantage
and when the opponent
followed the Mongols
would ambush them
with a large advantage.
6. The Mongol army also
used this technique to
make victory easier to
achieve. The technique
allowed large groups of
Mongol warriors to
separate and defeat
smaller groups of
opponents.
7. From Genghis to Timur
Khan, the Mongol
empire expanded to
control most all of Asia
by using the tactics and
weapons mentioned
earlier. The Mongols
conquer more land than
any other empire in
history.
