Join us on Instagram Live where our team will present a brief for you to draw/create/make on a weekly basis! Please send all your submissions through to anna@acrylicize.com
Everyone is welcome!
2. Welcome! We are Acrylicize, a creative studio based in London and Seattle.
Every week, we usually come together for a number of activities to help us work
as a team. However, due to the current circumstances, we need to stay at home.
Because of this, we're trying to connect with each other digitally as much as
possible, and now we'd like you to join us!
This week, we invite you to our virtual studio via Instagram Live
and challenge you to respond to our creative brief.
About us
3. Every Monday morning at 9am, we gather around as a studio and embark on a
creative challenge together as a team. It may be as simple as a drawing exercise, or
it could be an opportunity for the whole studio to help a colleague with a problem
that needs solving. Either way, it means that we start the week by coming together,
connecting, sharing and learning from each other before getting on with our day.

4. Maps are iconic, functional pieces of art. They give us a sense of place, show us where we
need to go, where we have been and where we want to go. Innovations throughout history
gave explorers the tools to map the land, from navigation via the stars, sextants, compasses',
to triangulation and now GPS and Google Earth.
In the last few weeks, our ability to travel has been greatly reduced. Now, we must seek
new ways to map out our lives and find our place in an increasingly static world. It is more
important than ever for us to stay in touch with relatives, friends and colleagues and help
others, and maps can help us to do this.
The brief:
'You are Here'
5. Starting with the title 'You are here', create a map. This map could be of a physical
space (your room, home, street, town, country, world, universe) or a metaphorical
map. Your identity and place in the world, your unique viewpoint. Consider where you
are, where you want to go, and where you want to be.
You can make this 'map' using anything, pens, paper, paint, fabric, food, plants, it
could be a poem a drawing, a dance, as long as it reflects you and your identity.
You have one hour to complete the task. When you've finished, either post it on
Instagram and tag us (@acrylicize) or email anna@acrylicize.com and we will share our
favourites.
If you have any questions please get in touch, we can't wait to see what you come up
with!
