Modified bitumen membrane provides effective protection against aggressive soils and maintains shape stability at high temperatures. It has dimensional stability, high tear strength, puncture resistance, and impact resistance. Modified bitumen membrane is available in APP-modified or SBS-modified forms and is reinforced with non-woven polyester, fiber glass, or polyethylene/polypropylene. The National Building Code of Canada and CGSB 37-GP-56M standard govern the use of modified bitumen membrane in roofing.
