A 12-week nutrition education program was implemented for 58 college athletes at Southeast Missouri State University. Registered dietitians led 30-minute weekly sessions covering topics like MyPlate, nutrition labels, fueling for exercise and recovery. Pre and post-tests assessed changes in nutrition knowledge. Softball players significantly improved their knowledge of macronutrients, weight maintenance, carbohydrates and NCAA supplement regulations. Baseball players significantly improved their knowledge of MyPlate, carbohydrates, fluids and weight maintenance. The program significantly increased athletes' nutrition knowledge.
