The Moa was a large, flightless bird that was native to New Zealand. It stood up to 3.6 meters tall and could weigh over 230 kilograms, making it the tallest and one of the heaviest birds. There were around 10 species of Moa that became extinct after humans arrived in New Zealand sometime between the 13th-15th centuries due to overhunting. The Moa is now a symbolic bird of New Zealand.
