MKNCC is situated in the centre of Milton
Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Our city is unlike any
other - designed for people who want more out
of life. Whether you’re looking for open spaces,
fantastic shopping, exhilarating sports or a bit
of culture there’s so much to experience. And
best of all, everything is close at hand.
Milton Keynes
The Birth of MK
In the 1960’s the UK government decided to
design some new towns. Milton Keynes was one
of them. Its area incorporated the existing towns
of Bletchley, Wolverton, and Stony Stratford,
along with another fifteen villages and farmland
in between, with a 250,000 population target.
Different to other new towns, MK was designed
to be wonderfully green and use a grid system
to ease the use of transport.
The code-breakers of Bletchley Park brought
innovation to our city in the Second World War.
The team’s ingenuity cracked German secret
codes. Now you can see Station X at Bletchley
Park, where it all happened, and explore the
heart of wartime operations and the birthplace
of the modern computer, Colossus. We’re a
city of firsts when it comes to environmental
brainwaves too. We created the world’s first
solar-poweredhousein1972.Theseprogressive
projects tested new ideas and set standards
that were later taken up across the city and
around the UK.
Central Milton Keynes
Business Hub
Big business. Small business. Milton Keynes is
alive with opportunity. We're one of the fastest
growing cities in Europe and major names in
business are here. Our ambitious city is home
to major international names like Santander,
Domino’sPizza,RedBullRacing,Mercedes-Benz
and Deloitte, as well as vibrant local businesses
and inspired entrepreneurs. Everything MK
does supports development and innovation.
We’ve always been forward thinkers.
Business District
The Modern City
As you might imagine, being a very modern
city that embodies and embraces innovation in
everything we do, MK is a technology hotspot
that attracts everyone from geeks and techies
to life scientists and aerospace engineers. MK
was central to UK Autodrive, a three-year project
that trialled the use of the first self-driving pods
in the UK. Another UK first saw Starship launch
their delivery robots, delivering groceries and
shopping to the local community.

Never Get Bored
What’s your passion? There are so many reasons
to love MK. MK has everything from extreme
sports to top shopping and fine dining. Sports
fans love our adrenaline-pumping activities and
wide open spaces. Where else can you ski,
skydive or wakeboard in the heart of a city?
Shoppers love our amazing shopping centres.
Culture fans love our historic attractions,
contemporary art gallery and West End shows.
There’s always so much going on.

Green Spaces
If it’s fresh air you’re after, you’re never far away
from wide open spaces. With more than 4,500
acres of parkland, woodland, lakes and rivers
youcanswapcitylifeforgreenspaceswhenever
you want. Campbell Park is our green oasis right
in the heart of the city and nearby Willen Lake
is our beautiful outdoor playground where you
can walk, cycle, sail, windsurf, dragon-boat race
or just watch the world go by in the tranquil
surroundings of the Peace Pagoda.

Getting Around
Everything is so easy to get to. Our grid system
makes travelling by car or bus so speedy. If
you’re under your own steam, you can whizz
around on redways that criss-cross the city with
more than 270 kilometres of safe routes for
cyclists and pedestrians. Need to be in London
for work or play? No problem. Hop on a train
and you're in the capital in only 35 minutes.
Wherever you are in our city, you're perfectly
placed for everything.
