MKDA Consultants was commissioned by Trine University to investigate gender diversity among its coaching staff and recommend appropriate actions. MKDA conducted surveys of female students, coaches, and administrators, and interviews with experts including a Senior Associate Athletics Director. The surveys found that while legal compliance and attitudes have improved regarding gender equity, opportunities for female coaches still lag behind males. Recommendations included attracting top female coaches, developing internal coaching candidates through mentorship programs, and establishing a Senior Women's Administrator position to provide leadership on gender issues.
