Máire Mac an tSaoi was an Irish poet born in Dublin in 1922. She wrote many famous poems in Irish such as "Codladh an Ghaiscigh", "An Galar Dubhach", and "An Cion go dtí Seo". She was the first woman to be called to the Bar in Ireland and the first woman to join the Department of Diplomatic Affairs through public competition. She was inspired to teach and spread awareness of the Irish language through her poems.
