Mrs. Ortega is hosting a mini café and movie event in Room 6 during the week of May 11-14, 2015 for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. Students can earn the privilege of attending based on their behavior being rated for certain days of the week without more than one warning, and without any office referrals or discipline issues. The event will be held during lunch on different days for each grade level.

Peer-facilitated discussions to enhance OER-based e-Learning
1) An online professional development course on OER-based e-learning was implemented in Sri Lanka using a constructivist pedagogy and scenario-based learning design. Peer-facilitated discussions were used to facilitate collaborative knowledge construction.
2) Analysis of the discussions found that the three presences (social, cognitive, teaching) interacted complementarily, with teaching presence from the course structure and social presence enabling higher-level thinking. Supportive factors included relevant resources and feedback, while time constraints posed challenges.
3) Peer discussions effectively supported knowledge construction when complemented by instructors' guidance. The findings reinforce the important role of instructors in cultivating the three presences to engage learners with content.
