Mila was hiking in Wekiva woods when she was startled by a diamondback rattle snake. As she attempted to escape, she tripped over a log and rolled down an embankment. She called 911 due to a large left leg laceration and was transported to the nearest emergency room. A&Ox3, calm, pleasant, PERRLA, GCS: 15 , no facial droop, clear appropriate speech, complains of chills and pain 6/10 to left leg, regular heart rhythm that is rapid, +3 edema to the left leg, +2 radial and pedal pulses, lungs clear to auscultation, unlabored respirations, no use of accessory muscles, symmetrical chest wall movement, denies urinary complaints, urine is clear and yellow, + BS in all quadrants, soft abdomen, left leg skin is red, hot to touch, yellow drainage, decreased ROM 2 ndary to swelling, remaining skin is pink, warm, and dry. 4/5 strength scale bilateral UE and LE.:i The patient will have a WBC level that trends down to normal by discharge.
