The American Motors Corporation (AMC) introduced the AMX, a two-seater muscle car, in 1968 to compete with the Chevrolet Corvette. The AMX was notable for setting 106 world speed records and offered a range of engine options and features, making it a blend of muscle and sports car. Production of the two-seater AMX ended in 1970, after which a four-seater version was released in 1971.
