murami stanowiła serce Barcelony. W jej centrum pomiędzy ulicami La Rambla i Via
Laietana znajduje się El Gòtic, najstarsza część miasta, zbudowana na rzymskim Barcino.
Mniejsza część miasta niż dzielnica (districte) nazywa się barri, stąd często pojawiająca
się nazwa barri Gòtic.
La Rambla to najbardziej znana ulica, właściwie deptak Barcelony. Ciągnie się ok. 1200
m od wielkiego Placu Katalonii (Plaça de Catalunya), aż do pomnika Kolumba koło

Idąc w stronę portu, po prawej stronie miniecie halę targową La Boqueria (Mercat de
Sant Josep de la Boqueria). Coś co może Was zainteresować, to sprzedawane tam już

ogromne ilości pojemników i kubeczków różnej wielkości pełnych kolorowej zawartości.

katedrą w centralnym punkcie. W tej dzielnicy znajduje się też okręg żydowski
zwany El Call. Barri Gòtic otacza drugi krąg Starego Miasta Barcelony, powstałego
w okresie secesji i modernizmu, a na zewnątrz tworzy się trzeci pierścień
wysokościowców i nowoczesnych budynków mieszkalno-biurowych. Za nimi są
jeszcze autostrady, a potem już tylko pola monotonnych i jednolitych bloków
mieszkalnych, typowa sypialnia miasta z czasów zaraz po II wojnie światowej.
Jednym z najciekawszych miejsc w mieście jest osiedle Eixample, które powstało
jeszcze w XIX wieku na planie kwadratu. Pierwotnym założeniem architekta było
budowanie domów tylko na dwóch bokach każdego z mniejszych kwadratów, na
jakie podzielony był cały teren. Dwa pozostałe miały stanowić tereny zielone, ale
wbrew założeniom zabudowano poszczególne kwartały do końca. Dla urozmaicenia
jednak pościnane zostały narożniki wszystkich domów na skrzyżowaniach dzięki
czemu place nabrały kształtów ośmiokątów.

Atarazanas. W porcie znajdziemy reż kopię okrętu Santa Maria Krzysztofa Kolumba, w którym znajduje się
muzeum, gdzie znajdziemy oryginalne mapy i atlas z 1493 roku, którego używał Amerigo Vespucci. Port w
Barcelonie jest jednym z większych portów w basenie Morza Śródziemnego, rocznie przybywa do niego
ponad 500 statków pasażerskich. Dodatkowo jest to ważny węzeł komunikacyjny jeżeli chodzi o transport
towarów. W 2006 roku, przez port przeszło ponad 2 miliony kontenerów. Port w Barcelonie jest ponadto
