MG David G. Barr had a distinguished military career spanning from World War I to the Korean War. He graduated from Officer Candidate School in 1917 and served in France during WWI. Throughout the interwar period and WWII, he held numerous staff and command positions and graduated from multiple military schools. During WWII, he served as a Chief of Staff in both the European and Mediterranean theaters. In the Korean War, he commanded the 7th Infantry Division and participated in major battles until illness forced his retirement in 1952. He received numerous decorations from the U.S. and its Allies for his service over his career.
