MFDC Preschool Program promotes Christian principles
and values. MFDC strives to provide “An Environment of
Love and Concern”. MFDC is a place
where children are encouraged to
develop at their own pace in an ef-
fective, nurturing environment
geared to build self esteem. Our
belief is developing the total child,
intellectually, emotionally, socially, physically, mentally
and spiritually. It is our goal to continue molding and
shaping little lives as we build for the future.
We want the children to feel confident and secure
enough to explore and grow in a stimulating education-
al and social environment. We are committed to pro-
moting and supporting all aspects of a child’s growth in
an atmosphere of respect.
Children participate in a variety of individual and group
activities designed to develop language and reading
readiness skills enhancing physical, social, emotional
and intellectual growth, skills and attitudes which will
increase their ability to succeed in school.
MFDC preschool program accepts children of any race,
sex, religion or national origin. A non-refundable fee is
required at the time the application is submitted. Inter-
views with children and parents are required prior to
admission.

ADMISSION
P R O G R A M S
Our programs are designed to enhance your child’s love of
learning
Each program MFDC offers is developmentally appropriate
for each age group, age-specific. We teach skills your child
will need to progress to the next level. Communication is
emphasized from the time they are infants.
Art
Through art activities, we focus on the creative process,
not necessarily the end result. We finger paint because it
feels good. We help children learn that they are creative,
imaginative individuals and help them feel good about
themselves.
Block Play
In our block play area, we help to enhance self-esteem,
building castles and learning about the concepts of shape,
pattern and size (all early math skills) as well as important
social skills like cooperation and sharing.
Play
Kids begin to think in abstract ways and use symbols for
objects that are not present. These skills are critical for
later success in math and science.
Fine Motor Skills
In this area, we develop cognitive skills, practice hand-eye
coordination, sorting and sequencing skills and more.
Music
Used to educate, entertain, calm, or just for fun, music is
vitally important in shaping a child emotionally, socially
and intellectually. We will hop, skip and dance to music to
develop muscles and coordination. We sing and play music
simply to make beautiful sounds together.
Outdoor Play
Opportunity for vigorous outdoor play is provided to de-
velop large muscle strength, coordination and balance.
Social skills are stressed and learned through taking turns
and sharing.
School Age
The school age programs at MFDC Center consist
of a Before and/or After School Program and a
Summer Program.
Before and/or After School Program – We pro-
vide before school care starting at 6:30am and after
school care when school is dismissed. We
transport to and from a variety of schools in the
Walnut Valley Unified School District. The first
part of an after schooler’s day at MFDC involves
going outside for a short period to release some
pent up energy and to get some fresh air and exer-
cise. Then we have a snack and plan our afternoon.
A variety of choices will be offered which include
arts and crafts, board games, reading center, table
top activities, block and Lego center, homework
center and dress up center. We also offer care
when the public schools are closed for various
reasons including winter and spring breaks.
Summer Program – The summer program in-
volves more planned activities than the school year
program. A detailed program schedule is issued
before the summer program starts each year. We
typically go to the pool once per week; the library
and park once per week each; a field trip once to
twice per week; and a fun educational group activi-
ty once per week. Additionally, we have the same
centers available that we have during the school
year. We have many planned arts & crafts activities
and go outside play twice each day. We serve a
nutritious morning and afternoon snacks each day.
Our goal in this program is for your child to have a
fun, safe and enjoyable summer.
Reading
Each classroom is stocked with reading materials and
comfortable places for children to relax and quietly read
or write. Children are read to often. We will increase
listening skills, which is crucial to later learning, and
help your child to develop an interest in reading for
pleasure.
Preschool
Two, Three & Pre-K Program
By age two, your child will be trying to establish their
own independence and will be filled with energy and
curiosity. As they grow, we continue to focus on their
physical, social, emotional and cognitive development
in a fun, safe and loving environment.
At the preschool level, our programs are more struc-
tured. Although children at this level still learn through
play, there will be more work on kindergarten prepara-
tion. Each preschool room has computers, creative art
centers, block play areas, dramatic play areas, fine mo-
tor play areas and literature centers. Our preschool
rooms are stimulating and well equipped with age ap-
propriate and abundant materials. Preschoolers become
secure in their daily routines which include circle time,
outside time, teeth brushing and hand washing time,
lunch and snack time, nap time, center time and art
time. Music, movement and art are an important part of
every day. Our social skills and self help skills will vastly
improve in the preschool program. We have three levels
in the preschool program. Each one prepares your child
for the next level and ultimately for kindergarten. By
the time your child reaches kindergarten, they will be
well prepared physically, socially, emotionally and cog-
nitively to face the challenges ahead. It’s exciting to be a
part of this process.

No matter what your child’s age is, whether you
need full or part-time, MFDC is dedicated to
providing a warm, nurturing environment for your
children.
There are many options when choosing a quality
day care. With one visit to MFDC, we are sure your
decision will be easier.
We like to think of ourselves as an extension of
both your child’s home and school. Our education-
al programs are designed to help your child grow:
 Physically
 Emotionally
 Socially
 Intellectually
In addition to full and part-time programs, we also
offer daily rates if you require a more flexible
schedule. We provide services for children 3
months to 12 years old. If you have any questions
about us, please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail.
