This document discusses surface tension, cohesion, adhesion and capillarity. Surface tension is the force of attraction of molecules towards the surface and sides of a liquid. Cohesion is the attraction between the same molecules, while adhesion is the attraction between different molecules. Water drops form spherical shapes to reduce surface area due to surface tension. Capillarity is the ability of liquids to flow in narrow tubes against gravity.
