The clinical treatment of mental health diseases is provided by a multidisciplinary group of specialists known as a mental health team. Part of a normal team are:
Psychiatrist: A medical practitioner with a licence to assess, identify, and treat mental health issues
A licenced mental health expert who assesses, diagnoses, and treats mental diseases is known as a psychologist.
In order to help a kid and their family achieve their treatment objectives, a certified clinical social worker may be involved.
Nurses specialising in mental health: Assist those experiencing immediate mental health crises
Help those in immediate need of mental health services by providing them with the necessary support staff.

10. 2. Psychiatric Nurse Clinical
Specialist -
The Psychiatric Nurse Clinical Specialist should have a
Masters Degree in nursing, preferably with post-
graduate research work.
She participates actively in primary, secondary and
tertiary prevention of mental disorders and provides
individual, group and family psychotherapy in a hospital
and community setting.
*She also takes up the responsibility of teaching,
administration and research.

The RegisteredNurse undergoesa General Nursing and Midwifery
Program orB.sc. Nursing/Post-basicB.sc.Nursing programwith
added qualificationssuch as Diploma in PsychiatricNursing,Diploma
in NursingAdministrationetc.
This nurse is skilled in caring forthe mentally ill, givesholistic care by
assessingthe patients mental, social,physical,psychologicaland
spiritualneeds, making a nursing diagnosis,formulating,evaluating,
and rendering the appropriatenursing care.
She/he co-ordinateswith the clinicalspecialistin a community mental
health setting.
She/he updates knowledgevia continuingeducation,in-service
education,workshopsand courses conductedby open university
14. 4. CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST –
-The clinical psychologist holds a
doctoral degree in clinical psychology and
is registered with the clinical
Psychologists Association.
She/he conducts psychological,
diagnostic tests, interprets and evaluates
the finding of these tests and implements
a program of behavior modification.

significant for the treatment, early recovery and
