This document provides statistics on the activity in 2017 of the Addiction and Mental Health Service of the University Hospital of Sant Joan de Reus. It summarizes data on initial visits, follow-up visits by social workers and nurses, and the number of total users attended by substance. The number of initial visits was 801 and the total number of users in 2017 was 1,744, most being male (78%) and between ages 15-45. The most common substances were heroin, cocaine, alcohol and cannabis. Social workers conducted 766 follow-up visits and nurses provided 1804 follow-up visits and 1152 emergency visits.
