The main focus of the webinar is to help inform UK participants of the needs of African partners in the area covered, and African partners of the capabilities of UK partners, to aid consortia building.
The webinar provides an overview of the Agri-Tech Catalyst funding programme, and then cover specific issues affecting Food Systems and Nutrition in Africa.
Agri-Tech Catalyst Funding Scheme:
Within Round 9 of the Agri-Tech Catalyst Competition, up to £5 million of funding will be available from the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) for early-stage feasibility studies, mid stage industrial research and late-stage experimental development. Projects must work on agri-tech and food chain innovations with partners in eligible African countries.

The long term proposal aims to strengthen International Framework Agreements and increase trade union involvement. A feasibility analysis discusses potential funding sources and challenges to implementing the proposals over different timeframes.
Inception of an Organic Food Company - Horizon 'Spot The Case' Final Round
Khati Food Ltd. is an organic food company looking to expand its business. A marketing campaign is proposed with the goals of establishing resilient sales distribution, promoting the brand, and gaining farmers' trust. The campaign implements a push-pull strategy using retailer-focused trade marketing and brand promotion. It establishes accreditation for food safety, relaunches the brand, segments the market, and implements a multi-phase plan including improving supply chains, partnering with retailers, and digital/ATL awareness campaigns. Key performance indicators and a budget are provided, with the campaign estimated to reach over 300,000 people with a 58.4% projected ROI.
