Last week, June 11th, AWS hosted a successful Partner Day in London, targeted at our existing APN partners.
This is what we've covered during the sessions:
- AWS product and services update
- The AWS partner program benefits and opportunities
- How to develop your partnership with AWS
- AWS competency program
- How to resell AWS services
Yes, CSV files are a blast from the past but sometimes they are still the best tool for the job. However there are some definite do's and dont's here when you need to, or want to, use file based interfaces.

Speeding up development is a key concern, cloud and technology improvements like Docker speed up key steps that make continuous delivery possible. Breaking up the work into many separate microservices and datastores with stable APIs allows teams to make progress independently so that the organization scales. Monolithic apps are preferred for small projects, built by small teams and when very low latency and high efficiency is the primary requirement. Monitoring microservices is currently a challenge with solutions starting to emerge.

Presented at the Keep Austin Agile 2016 Conference by Chris Edwards
By now you have likely heard about DevOps. It's quickly gaining adoption. But what is it? And why should you care? DevOps is all about creating a culture of high collaboration between development and operations with a goal of optimizing the entire software delivery pipeline—from code commit to features running in production. This enables organizations to deliver value into production faster and at a lower cost—even enabling multiple production deployments per day. Imagine the competitive advantage gained by delivering new features in hours or days rather than weeks, months or quarters.
This talk will show how DevOps improves agility by optimizing the delivery pipeline. We’ll look at common patterns and anti-patterns. We’ll see the kind of tools needed to automate and manage the ever increasing number of servers and applications modern organizations need. We’ll also discuss the benefits and costs of adopting a DevOps culture.
Here is a taste of some of the things we will discuss:
- Get ops involved up front rather than at the end, so deployment and monitoring issues are found early and rework is reduced.
- Treat infrastructure as code so it is automated, repeatable, and under version control.
- Ensure your development and test environments are identical to production (or as close as possible). This helps catch issues sooner rather than in production.
- Deploy more frequently so you are dealing with a smaller batch of changes. This is easier to manage, and less likely to fail.
If you struggle with deployments, or your ops team is constantly fighting fires and drowning in unplanned work, this talk is for you. Come see how DevOps can improve the agility of your organization.

you can grow and where are you heading!
A crystal-clear career path is available from internship to
seniority and skills such as product excellence,

are credited and rewarded.
12. We have designed and built our JavaScript stack to create complex apps for the web
browser. And when the browser is not enough, we take the native code path.
Running on the client device
FRONTEND
This team runs the business logic that provides support to the app running on the
customer device. They interconnect services and do the magic.
Behind the scene guys
BACKEND
CORE
Dealing with critical components
Handling all high performance components that run closer to the operating system such
as our HubRing database or real-time telephony services.
AUTOMATION
On top of everything
They fight to simplify complexity. Their main tool is our software testing stack, but a perfect
understanding of the product comes first. It starts with the core and ends with the skin.
13. INFRASTRUCTURE
Because we need them
Obsessed with hardware, storage, hypervisors, cloud orchestration. We run our own
cloud infrastructure for production and testing.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Making the customer wish for more
Always ready to help customers, in any way. Starting with provisioning advice and
ending with technical trainings, they never sleep.
HUMAN RESOURCESSALES, MARKETING & CUSTOMER CARE
Completing the customer experience The heart that pumps the blood into the team
It's pretty useless to build things if no one knows about them. The global market is tough
and we have strong competitors.
We’re a fast-paced, fun-loving, collaborative team with a mission: attract, hire, develop
and reward talented people. We do whatever it takes to find that perfect fit for the role.
14. Top of the line hardware & software to ensure that
we always have the most efficient tools at hand.
OUR INFRASTRUCTURE
15. Private Cloud
Clouders work on virtual desktops. It's green, mobile and productive.
Our private engineering cloud has over 2 TB of RAM, more than 300 CPUs and over 100 TB of storage.
Even complex graphics workloads can be rendered using GPU virtualization powered by NVIDIA Grid
technology.
While we use many different technologies, we are OpenStack and ZFS fans.
At the desk
When you have a lot of tools, a small screen is just not enough.
That's why every workstation has two 24 inches high-quality IPS monitors. This cutting edge
setup makes it very easy for us to switch desks and fuels collaboration.
Dev tools
We use many Atlassian tools that we keep up-to-date: JIRA for tracking, Confluence as our Wiki, Stash
for Git repository management and Bamboo for continuous integration.
We also use JIRA Agile to organize our backlog, and Balsamiq for wireframing. We've actually built our
own tools to automate and integrate everything even better. Developers can use any IDE they like, but
many prefer JetBrains. Because they rule.
16. TECHNOLOGIES
Standard cloud architecture inherited by all products,
comprehensive technical documentation with over 5,000
pages in our internal wiki and internal trainings for hot
technologies.
We are also big fans of Open Source. We deal with
over a hundred Open Source solutions that are used in
our cloud stack. We are hardcore users and experts on
some of the hottest technologies, such as:
- node.js
- Elasticseach
- Nginx
- RabbitMQ
17. JavaScript
We prefer browser based apps because they are highly portable and convenient for SaaS. That's why we developed our own
JavaScript framework which is appropriate for large scale apps.
We are JavaScript experts. We use it not only on the browser, but also on the server with node.js. JavaScript is easy to learn,
yet highly difficult to master.
PHP
A lot of our cloud backend is written in PHP. While we are slowly transitioning our cloud backend to node.js, there are still
many exciting things developed in PHP.
C
High performance services are always implemented in C. Additionally we maintain an extensive set of patches (hundreds of
thousand lines of code) for many Open Source software, such as Nginx, Asterisk, Kamailio and many others. We also
maintain a high performance database HubRing, which is a fork of Redis.
And there is more!
We work with Objective-C, Erlang and Java and pretty often with Groovy, Lua and Python on a daily basis.
PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES
18. Our Clouders’ benefits are as scalable as our
software. Our list of perks grows with each
challenge we complete in our Game of Benefits.
