 Ingres is a proven RDBMS (Relational Database Management
System) and it is a place to store and retrieve data from. This data
can be backed up and data can be retrieved if necessary. Ingres is
every important for company(ies) with a large data volume. It is
every reliable database and can be used by either larger or
smaller businesses. The user interface is the media that our client
accesses the database through. Example; a screen that you enter
information into in this case it is called OpenRoad.

 OPENROAD
 This links well with Ingres database from the same Organisation,
Actian. This is the graphical interface that a user can view and
change the data that they have on the database. We develop the
screens to appear in the Windows operating system environment
and use a link to get to the data that they want to view for change
or report on. The database is generally on a server, although can be
placed on a standalone device were if required.

 BESPOKE
 This simply means that the software and data structure is
designed to fit the specific business needs of the client; this is
not an ‘off- the-shelf’ product. We link our software with
Microsoft Word or OpenOffice documents for reporting and
send data from the screens e.g. customer name and address. An
example of this would be to send information onto a company
standard letter for posting to a company client.
